About Us

 B.C.
BEFORE COVID
Our start in Business

I was finally starting to see our family's dream come true. A life goal for me and my fiancé, had been to own our own business. We spent years trying to find something we could put our name too. Something we could pour our blood sweat and tears into, and finally see a return on our hard labor. This is our journey.

After leaving the military, we both worked very hard at our 9-5 jobs. We both took pride in our work and were routinely picking up extra hours, shifts, or staying late. We were working hard to provide for our growing family of five children. Eventually we came to the conclusion, like many do, that we could do something more.

My Fiancé was constantly angry with her peers in the nursing field, their work ethic, along with the mismanagement of patients and staff. Some of her horror stories will keep you from ever putting loved ones in elder care. She would pick up shifts whenever and wherever she could. After years of this, it was becoming clear. There were things in this field that would always happen, and there wasn't anyone with the power to change things, that cared enough to do so.

With a strong sense of pride in my work, I began to despise those above me. I watched them screw customers left and right, to top it off I could see the money going in and out of the business, the way staff were treated, the lack of necessary equipment to perform the job, then of course, I could see my penance, little dribbles worth of money for the hours of hard work and frustration, hours of talking customers down, deescalating, sacrificing my hours with friends and family to ensure they were cared for properly. I have always worked every job as if the business was mine. The work wasn't done right if you weren't willing to put your name on it.

After years of being held back when we knew better, after being undermined by superiors and peers, we had enough. It was time to put our money where my mouth is.

Together, we had spent years, debating industries to enter, there were some definite No's right out of the gate, whether they were personal dislikes of the business, business models we foresaw as collapsing industries, or simply priced way out of our reach. Business' aren't cheap.

As often happens, when I was at my wits end with my current job, the universe gave me a sign, a chance. I came across a broken, but operational business that had once been successful. The model had been proven, and the current owner frankly had no business, in business. Daddy had shown up with a paycheck, and the owner did his best to pilot this business into the ground. With the help of our close family, and some very creative financial solutions, we were able to make a deal that made sense. We knew it would be some time before the business was truly profitable, but for now, it was ours. Every dent, ding, scratch and broken system was OURS. The year was 2019 B.C.

We had a rough start, neither of us had every taken full responsibility of a business, never mind a broken one. In hindsight, it would likely have been easier and cheaper to start a business from scratch, than to correct all the wrongs and find all of the missing pieces along the way. I will have other articles describing our early adventures as entrepreneurs. Regardless, the hard work began to pay off, the year+ of 7 day work weeks, 80+hour weeks was showing light at the end of the tunnel. Then came COVID.

The Pandemic rattled us as business owners in ways we never could have predicted. One of the things we had most enjoyed about our becoming business owners, was our ability to make our own decisions, on the fly, based on whatever we wanted to do. As the Pandemic took hold, it quickly became clear, that things would never be the same. It appeared to us that everything happening, had more to do with Control and restriction, than actually saving lives.

We finally had found our freedom, only to have it immediately threatened by our own government. We had plenty of regular customers with a wide range of stances on Covid. Everyone was welcome at our business. There were passionate people on both sides of the equation. As business owners we thought the answer was pretty simple. we will run the business as we always had, in the interest of the customers. We were tolerant of all customers thoughts and opinions, and we didn't want to control their lives. Our wish was to operate a business with freedom of choice for our customers. We were aware that this could lead some customers away, however, overall we were confident there were enough customers who supported the idea for free choice, that we would be fine.

This was not to be however, the government had different plans, we were being told what to tell our customers to do. Under the infamous vail of "safety" After all, you wouldn't want to be unsafe, would you?

As the year drug on, the restrictions kept piling on and the groups on both sides became further fueled by hatred for the other, and there we were, stuck in the middle, finally running a business of our own, by someone else's rules.  This was no longer fun, we no longer had a way to vent our frustrations except to one another, worse yet, we were employee's again, of the government.

I did my best to stand my ground, to do what I thought was right, sadly this soon led to days filled with arguing and yelling, police reports and fines. I had grown to despise owning the business I once loved. I had a taste of what it was like, then the plate was taken from us. We caved, we COMPLIED, and we carried on like so many others. Praying that this nightmare would eventually be over.

We started this site for multiple reasons, primarily as a vent for our frustrations, but then it became a tool for so much more:

1-We want to operate a business of passion and be proud of our beliefs, without fear of persecution.

2- We want to give others a way to communicate their passion for Freedom via our clothing and accessory line.

3-We want to share our story, to help others understand they aren't alone in this Covid crazed world.

4- I have a head packed with strange thoughts and Ideas, I needed a place to share these with the world.

5- As a family, we have a wealth of experience in multiple industries, and we hope to share some of this knowledge with you.

6- We are starting a new adventure into homesteading, and we want to chronical the adventure for others to see. To learn from.

Thanks for joining our adventure.
